The ICRM was incorporated in 1975 to meet the requirement to have a standard by which persons involved in records and information  management (RIM) could be measured, accredited and recognized according to  criteria of experience and capability established by their peers. The primary mission of the ICRM is to develop and administer the  professional certification of RIM Managers including the relevant examinations such as the CRM and certification maintenance programs.
